This class is done in the hot studio but the temperature is kept at 30 degrees. It is a dynamic class designed to work the body and calm the mind. Our dedicated heated studio creates a warm, humid environment which facilitates your muscles and joints opening more deeply than a regular class while your heart, lungs and circulatory system work to give you a cardio workout as well. Friday evening classes are done by candlelight.
Great for beginners and suitable for all levels. Not suitable for pregnant women or under 18’s.
Late comers will not be admitted to this class.
Important
You will sweat a lot so for hygiene reasons you must bring a large towel into the studio to lay on your mat, a small one to wipe sweat away during class and one for the shower afterwards. You can hire towels at Reception for £2.00 each or bring your own. We will provide specialist hot yoga mats.
Your first few classes will be challenging. It is your practice so take things easy and rest as often as you need to. The aim is to stay in the room until the end of class. Come hydrated and avoid eating anything heavy 2-3 hours before class. Bring a bottle for water which you can refill at our water station.
It is best to wear lightweight fabrics. Women typically wear shorts or leggings and a sports top while men wear shorts and vest / T-shirt.
If you are pregnant, or less than 7 weeks post-natal, we ask that you do not attend our general yoga and pilates classes unless specified that it is suitable. Not all of our instructors are trained in this area and we are unable to guarantee a safe pregnancy practice. No exceptions. It is generally advised that during the first trimester you do not attend any classes. If you do want to practice we strongly recommend you seek the advice of your GP. If you are more than 14 weeks into your pregnancy you are welcome to join one of our specialist pregnancy classes or classes that say they are suitable for pregnant women.
