Reni Pani Jungle Lodge

We will be staying at Reni Pani Jungle Lodge, a modern-day luxury safari destination. There are 12 standalone cottages - each a different design and a discreet distance from the next. Each cottage has a large private deck, double or twin beds, ensuitebathroom, indoor and outdoor shower, tea making facilities and air-conditioning. 

The team at Reni Paniare super friendly and efficient. Aly, the owner, is very hands-on, Khim, the butler, will make sure your stay is comfortable and the team of qualified naturalists are on hand to answer all your wildlife questions.  

Communal facilities include a lounge, bar, dining room, library and a beautiful, luxurious swimming pool plus an ancient Neem Tree under which we will do some of the yoga classes.

Reni Pani's world class chefs will make sure you are well fed during your stay.  They prepare Vegan, Vegetarian and Non Vegetation meals based on Indian and Western cuisine.  

Surrounded by rugged hills, meadows and waterways, the lodge and it’s waterhole are a hot-spot for wildlife like sambhar, cheetal, nilgai, wild boar, leopard and sloth bear. 

Satpura National Park

Everyday we will venture into the Satpura National Park - one of our favorites. There’s less focus on tigers so the park does not attract the huge crowds you get in other Indian National Parks. That said tiger sightings are frequent but the real attraction of this amazing park are the sloth bears and leopards as well as packs of wild dog, the bison-like Indian gaur, sambhar and wild boar. There are also a host of smaller animals including langurs, rhesus macaque (monkeys), giant Malabar squirrel, flying squirrels and the Indian mongoose to name but a few.  

The Denwa River and its tributaries run through Satpura creating some spectacular gorges and ravines making this a bird watchers paradise with a large and diverse population of endemic and migratory birds. 

March / April is the ideal time to visit the park. While temperatures will be high (average day time temp 38-40 Celsius) these are the ideal conditions for game sightings - in the early mornings and afternoons as all the animals make their way to the waterholes. 

Proposed Itinerary

Day 1 - Thursday 26th March

Plan to arrive in Bhopal, India by 11am.  There are early morning flight options out of either New Delhi or Mumbai.  You will be met at the airport and will be transferred by car to Reni PaniJungle Lodge arriving in time for lunch.  After settling into your room we will venture into the SatpuraNational park for our first jeep safari!!!!  Returning after sunset we will have dinner followed by a yoga nidrasession and bed.

Day 2 - 7 - 27th April - 1st April

A typical day will include an early rise, either morning or afternoon jeep safari into the SatpuraNational Park, one yoga session and one relaxation class led by either Guy or Cindy.  Lodge based activities are also available including bird watching, a nature walk, village tour or cycling or chilling by the pool

Day 8 - Thursday 2nd April

An early morning yoga session followed by breakfast and then depart by car for Bhopal Airport and your connecting flight.  Look to depart after 15:00 to either Mumbai or Delhi.
